Coury Science and Engineering's management team has diverse experience in research, industry, and consulting. We approach each project with a fundamental understanding of science and engineering principles and apply those principles to each project drawing from practical experience gained in the industrial sector.
Dr. Coury is a certified Professional Engineer in North Carolina (license #039697), South Carolina (license #32330) and Texas (#120492) and holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering from Arizona State University and a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from North Carolina State University. Her doctoral research was focused on air quality, specifically characterizing and determining anthropogenic and biogenic sources of aerosol particles in Class I areas utilizing novel Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) and back trajectory clustering methods. Dr. Coury also worked as an air quality engineer in the chemical industry and has gained specific experience in the following areas: management of Title V permitting and compliance, preparation and/or review of reports (complex emissions inventories, greenhouse gas reporting, SARA 313 TRI, Title V/ NESHAP annual/semiannual/quarterly reports), HON, MON, OLD, NC 112(j) (HBCA option), LDAR, Boiler MACT, RICE MACT, 114 data requests, NC Air Toxics, modeling (AERMOD, Water9, HYSPLIT), PSD analysis, and stack testing ERT/CEDRI submittal.
Mr. Coury is a certified Professional Engineer in North Carolina (license #037855), Tennessee (license #121562), and Georgia (license #PE044436) and holds both a Master of Science in Chemical Engineering from Arizona State University and a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from North Carolina State University. Mr. Coury has over 21 years of experience as an engineer, environmental consultant, and regulatory manager in the chemical industry. Mr. Coury has extensive experience in the following: management of environmental permits (Title V, NPDES, hazardous waste large quantity generator, stormwater), preparation and/or review of reports (emissions inventory, greenhouse gas reporting, DMR, SARA Tier II, SARA 313 TRI, hazardous waste biennial reports, FIFRA annual reporting), DOT compliance (hazardous materials shipping requirements, DOT site security), environmental health and safety auditing, environmental permitting (Title V, NPDES, stormwater, RCRA), and environmental plan development (SPCC, stormwater, greenhouse gas monitoring plan, hazardous waste contingency plan, emergency response planning).
